From our 5/8" thick face plate to our 3/16" Lower control arm mounts, everything was designed to handle high horsepower! The Axles Tubes are constructed out of 3" 4130 Tubing. Next year I think I might pull the front bench seat out and get that redone, the springs/foam are pretty much shot on the driver's side and i have some tears in the vinyl on the sides. That'll probably be it for the car this year now. I also have polyurethane motor mounts and a newer rubber trans mount. So now the car has just about all new bushings on it for the suspension and body. I replaced my body bushings and rear suspension bushings years ago with all polyurethane stuff from Energy Suspension, but I never got around to the front suspension bushings, which is why they were shot. The new uppers and fresh alignment really improved the car big time though! Drives so much nicer now!

In your case, I would probably opt for just polyurethane bushings in your stock control arms. The CBR control arms are a huge improvement over the stock ones, especially since I also installed coil-over shocks.Īll that being said, though, since your car is mainly a cruiser with occasional trips to the drags, I'm not sure that it's worth the investment to change out your control arms just because your bushings are bad. However, I drive my car a lot, and some of the driving I do is somewhat 'spirited' through mountain roads, just for the pleasure of doing it.
